Floyd Mayweather was waxing poetic on the sport of boxing and the fight everyone wants to see. TMZ Sports caught up with the undefeated fighter and asked about fighting MMA star Connor McGregor. Mayweather gave a couple reasons why McGregor has a chance to beat him.
First, Floyd says he’s in his 40s and not a young man, continuing:
I’ve been off for a couple years and I’m 40 years old now. So, I’m a lot older and he’s still in his 20s and I’m in my 40s now. So that could play a major key, we don’t know. And he’s a heavy hitter.
Floyd also responded to the notion that an MMA fighter can’t go rounds with a boxer as skilled as he is, saying:
Every time he goes out there and defeats fighters, he’s standing up. He’s in a boxing position and he’s beating fighters.
The one thing you can say about Floyd is, the man is not stupid. Everything he does he has a clear reason and outcome in mind. He could be starting early mind games, or simply giving his respect. Either way people are getting even more excited for a potential bout.
