A Florida man has been charged with a long list of crimes after a hotel stay took a wrong turn including theft and inappropriate touching.
According to Tallahassee.com former First Judicial Circuit assistant state attorney Ryan P. Campbell is charged with battery, grand theft of a fire extinguisher, obstructing a firefighter, battery of an EMT and disorderly conduct.
Campbell, according to court records, was being disruptive at the Monroe Street hotel’s rooftop bar Level 8 at about 11 p.m. A hotel employee was escorting Campbell to the lobby to get another room key when he “palmed” the employee’s crotch, arrest records said. The employee then left the 31-year-old on the sixth floor to call the police.
When the employee found Campbell again, he was running down the hallway yelling “help” and wearing only a thong and a shirt. He eluded employees and police by running out of an emergency exit while carrying two fire extinguishers as the hotel’s fire alarms sounded.
Officers on the scene report that Campbell kicked emergency medical personnel who were attempting to transfer him to the hospital.
