According to former NBA guard Rashad McCants someone in the NBA is blackballing him. McCants told the Charlotte Observer last week that he believes he’s been “blackballed” by the NBA, although he wouldn’t drop any names he did give hints.
In an interview Thursday on SI Now, McCants came really close to spilling the beans on who he feels is the mastermind behind his demise. Rashad a first-round draft pick, that was traded mid way through his 4th season struggled to find his footing after his contract expired with Sacramento.
In the clip McCants thanked Ice Cube and affiliates involved with the Big 3 League for a second chance with his career. He also goes on to speak on his clean record and even went as far as giving a few clues as to who he felt was behind his failed career.
“I’ve been told, numerous conversations and numerous sources, that I’ve been blackballed,” McCants told the Observer. “And it’s just the way the league is sometimes. When one person who is a higher-up, Hall of Famer, says don’t touch him, they won’t. And that’s just how it is.”
It doesn’t take much to figure out McCants only played for one Hall of Fame coach: Kevin McHale.
And when asked in the video who was he referring to, McCants gave a pretty specific clue.
