In the last 48 hours, since news broke that SoundCloud may be close to a complete shut down, users are left to ponder the faith of the free music streaming service.
If you are not familiar with SoundCloud, it is a user generated service that offers free a music streaming service to a large number of fans who prefer free streaming music.
Reporting that over 40-percent of its staff had been laid off, Monday the founders Alex Ljung and Wahlforss announced that the company would be undergoing major cuts in order to survive another 52 days.
With questions mounting about how the company would stay afloat, Chance The Rapper took to Twitter to offer a few words that just may have eased the stress just for the moment. Previously donating $1 million to the Chicago Public School system, many are a little more hopeful for the companies future after seeing the rapper’s tweet via social media.
Earlier today the Chicago native tweeted out a message that indicated he wants to get involved and help the company. The rapper offers up a helping hand stating he’s working on the SoundCloud thing. While nothing more has been said as of yet, I’m sure that single tweet is a shining light for the SoundCloud founders and employees.
However, if Chance is able to formulate a plan to help the streaming company stay afloat he would definitely be considered “The Real MVP” in the books of many fans and free music lovers. But with no clear set out plan, how easy of a fix this will be is unknown.
