Michigan Governor Defends His Racist State Police Director After She Called Black Athletes Ingrates

Michigan State police director Col. Kriste Kibbey Etue received support from her boss, Governor Rick Snyder in the wake of her racist Facebook comments following Sunday’s NFL protests, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Take a close look at Etue’s comments, they reek of dog whistle politics. First, she attacks the athletes by referring to them as millionaire ingrates. Why does it matter if they are millionaires or “dollarnaires”? It matters because black people must always show appreciation for what they have.

Questioning America and challenging the system, doesn’t mean you hate the country. In fact it suggests great respect and love for the country that you want it to be its best. We also know the protest is not about disrespecting the flag or the military which has been said countless times. It is because of the sacrifices of these brave men and women that we have the freedom and right to protest.

Closing her statement with the phrase “rich, entitled, arrogant, ungrateful, anti-American degenerates” was very strong and filled with hate. That is all code for black people. The reality is, while America may love its sports, it hates the athletes that play the sports with more passion. Why? Because they are by and large young, rich, black men. Which of course is something, “the people” can’t stand.

It should come as no surprise to anyone that the Governor is supporting his state police director. Her comments were vile but no doubt emblematic of how many in the state’s government feel about the protests we saw this past weekend.
