Ironic that athletes and sports media personalities are told to “stick to sports” when Donald Trump spends more time coming at them then he does attempting to learn how to run the country.
At the Warriors Media Day, Steph Curry explained the team’s likely decision to skip the ceremonial White House visit should an invitation be extended. Curry was asked what it would mean if the team took such action.
“You can talk about all the different personalities that have said things and done things — from Kaepernick to what happened with Michael Bennet to all sorts of examples of what has gone on in our country that has led to change. We’re all trying to do what we can using our platforms, using our opportunities to shed light on that. That’s kind of where I stand on that. I don’t think us going to the White House will miraculously make everything better, but this is my opportunity to voice that.”
Not one to give his Twitter fingers a rest, Trump tweeted out that the Warriors invitation will be withdrawn. Because that is what the president should be focused on instead of, you know, North Korea.
