The IRS and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are all square, for now. The undefeated champion boxer used part of his massive payment from the Conor McGregor fight to settle the $22M he owed in back taxes from 2015.
According to The Blast the lien was filed this April. You may remember 2015 was the year Mayweather fought Manny Pacquiao and earned an estimated $200M or so. Anyone else see a pattern developing here with May? Dude earns hundreds of millions for a fight and that same tax year he doesn’t pat what’s owed and needs another big payday to settle the debt.
I don’t know the intricacies of May’s finances. Maybe he just wanted to delay paying the government. Rich people tend to do that. I do know he spends a lot. That man’s overhead has to be massive. He may want to think about limiting outlay and increasing income. Just a thought.
