Nivea continues to be tone deaf when advertising to people of color despite two prior admonishments.
Newsweek reports that the company’s new “Natural Fairness” body line commercials, which airs in parts of Africa and Asia, promises to restore and enhance fair skin. Using computer enhancement, a black model applies the lotion to her skin and suddenly it lightens. A virtual white wash.
The commercial originally aired months ago overseas but some how landed in the lap of social media users today.
And the reactions flew.
