In October, Applebee’s wanted to show their appreciation to customers by implementing the “Dollarita.” Unfortunately for Applebee’s, a disgruntled bartender posted a video of what actually went into the Dollarita and they caught a lot of criticism for the product they were putting out. Instead of trying to push the Dollaritas again, Applebee’s will be selling $1 Long Island Iced Teas (or L.I.T.s. as Applebee’s refers to them) for the remainder of 2017.
To reassure customers that the L.I.T.s. would not be mostly water like the Dollarita, Applebee’s has said exactly what will be in the $1 L.I.T.s. People Magazine reports:
The $1 Long Island Iced tea—or, as they’re calling them, L.I.T.s.—are a mix of vodka, rum, gin, tequila, triple sec, and sweet & sour mix, with a splash of cola. That’s a whopping 1.5 ounces of hard alcohol per drink— so proceed with caution.
Just like they did for the Dollarita, the public welcomed the news of the $1 L.I.T.s. with great joy.
