Jay Z wrote an op-ed piece in the New York Times a few weeks ago explaining how what’s happening to Meek Mill in the midst of his current incarceration is what has been happening to black men for centuries in America. Last night, Hov had a show at the Wells Fargo Center in Meek’s hometown of Philadelphia for his 4:44 Tour.
In the middle of the show, Jay Z played Meek’s ‘Dreams & Nightmares’ intro that made its name as one of the hottest intros to an album of all time back in 2012. He let most of the track play out but then stopped it so that the fans can finish rapping to the record.
Joel Embiid, Yo Gotti, Ben Simmons, and Trey Songz were some big names to support Meek at Jay Z’s show. They all received ‘Stand With Meek Mill’ hoodies.
