The NCCA’s latest pay for play scandal just dropped another bombshell. The FBI has been investigating former sports agent Andy Miller and his ASM sports agency for corruption, and Yahoo Sports has published hundreds of pages of documents from the investigation. The documents reveal that Miller allegedly tried to get players to sign with his agency by granting them huge payouts or loans. Some big names are included in the documents and here are some of the notables:
Markelle Fultz – allegedly took $10,000 while in high school.
Dennis Smith (North Carolina State) allegedly took $73,500.
Isaiah Whitehead (Seton Hall) allegedly took $37,657. He signed with ASM, but later left for Roc Nation Sports.
Bennie Boatwright (University of Southern California) and/or his father allegedly took $2,000.
Kyle Kuzma (Utah) allegedly took $9,500.
FBI documents also note several other NBA players on payout sheets including Kyle Lowry, Nerlens Noel, Malik Pope, Fred Van Vleet and Kyle O’Quinn. It’s no secret that with billions of dollars being injected into college sports that college athletes want and often get a piece of the pie.
