The #Vikings are not expected to franchise tag QB Case Keenum and he’s slated to hit free agency, per sources with knowledge of the team’s thinking. Barring a change of heart, Minnesota joins the fray for a starting QB… and will make these next few weeks fascinating.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Case Keenum appears headed for free agency. Add the Vikings to a list of teams who will be in search of a new signal caller during free agency. Keenum originally signed a one-year deal at $2 million to be the back up quarterback for the Vikings. Injuries to the starter Sam Bradford forced the Vikings to go with Keenum as the starter. Keenum put together a career year which saw the Vikings go 13-3, which included the Minneapolis Miracle in the NFC Divisional Round versus the New Orleans Saints.
Along with Keenum being a free agent so will Sam Bradford and former 1st round pick Teddy Bridgewater. The Vikings could elect to bring back one or more of their free agent quarterbacks after shopping the market which possibly could include Kirk Cousins.
The Vikings are flushed with talent on offense including wide receivers Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen and running back Dalvin Cook who will make his way back from a torn ACL.
