Kevin Love has been out of action for over a month with a broken hand injury and a lot has happened within the Cavaliers’ locker room since his absence. Cleveland acquired Jordan Clarkson, Rodney Hood, George Hill, and Larry Nance after having a dismal month of January.
Per Dave McMenamin, Love is aiming to return earlier than expected from his injury. He said that Love wants to return before his expected eight-week timeframe.
“Love was back on the practice court taking mid-range jump shots Friday, four weeks after fracturing a bone in his left hand,” said McMenamin. “He is optimistic that he will return to game action before the team’s stated eight-week recovery timeline expires. If I can get back before eight weeks, great. “I’m hoping that is the case.”
Love returning to the Cavs’ lineup is crucial for their playoff positioning as they currently stand at third in the East. The Celtics and Raptors are ahead of them.
