Rookie Point Guard Markelle Fultz has been out for the Sixers since October 23 with a shoulder injury. The injury’s severity was to the point where he couldn’t life his shoulders up to get a jump shot off.
Head Coach Brett Brown discussed Fultz and his status prior to Philly’s win vs Minnesota on Saturday night, per the Associated Press.
“It’s just something that when Markelle Fultz feels like he can go—he really feels good about himself and his health, the shoulder, everything and the medical people support that—he knows that he has a coaching staff and a team that will welcome him in when he says go,” said Brown. “He also understands the season is around the corner in terms of the end of the regular season. That’s where it’s at.”
The Sixers definitely won’t rush Fultz back. The team currently stands at fourth in the East with a 42-30 record. They “trusted the process” and are on the verge of their first playoff berth since the 2012 postseason.
