Just barely a month after entering California’s 44th district congressional race, Stacey Dash– of the Sunken Place– has withdrawn. In a statement, Dash says:
I have released this statement on my campaign. It’s not an easy one. pic.twitter.com/HvKuUad48F
— Stacey DASH (@staceydash) March 30, 2018
It is unclear how Dash would have fared in a district that includes primarily African-American areas like Compton, Carson, and North Long Beach given her questionable remarks about BET, Black History Month, and the #OscarsSoWhite campaign. Dash also raised eyebrows during her first campaign t.v. interview when she said she agreed with Trump’s remarks about the white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, VA.

Dropping out of the race, no longer being cast in straight-to-DVD movies, and having been fired by Fox News, Dash’s next career path remains a mystery.
