Conor McGregor’s crazed bus attack led to three canceled bouts at UFC 223. Now, Max Holloway, who stepped in to save the main event after Tony Ferguson was injured, has been ruled out due to medical reasons.

The medical reason in question is because Max Holloway failed to make weight according to Blookyellow.com
Max Holloway stepped in to try and save the main event, but there were concerns about his massive weight cut all week. Friday morning, the featherweight champion failed to make it to the weigh ins and was subsequently declared “medically unfit to fight” by the New York State Athletic Commission.
Max was apparently pushing himself hard to drop the extra pounds before the weigh-in, but doctors came in and squashed his attempt.
This from a member of Holloway’s team:
“Max wants to keep pushing and is close but the doctors came up and just stopped it. Doctors stopped it not us. Max was going.”
