Colin Kaepernick was blackballed by yet another team last week by the Seahawks when they canceled his workout with them over the fact that he would not commit to stop kneeling during the national anthem to protest against racism and police brutality. This was sadly the same case with Kaepernick’s former 49ers teammate Eric Reid when his deal with the Bengals didn’t go through.
Kaepernick knelt to protest against racism and police brutality and will be remembered on the right side of history. The president of adidas’ North American division Mark King commended Kaepernick’s activism and wants to sign him to an endorsement deal should he find a team to sign with, according to AZ Central.
“We love athletes that have a platform to make the world a better place,” said King. “If they’re an activist in a way that brings attention to something that moves the world forward, even if there’s controversy at that moment, we’re really interested in those athletes because I think it represents the world today.”
Much respect to adidas for praising Kaepernick. He still needs to be signed to this endorsement regardless of how fast he signs with a team due to his overall success in the NFL such as taking San Francisco to two straight NFC title games and a Super Bowl.
