Patritots tight end Rob Gronkowski has been waffling with his football future. There have been reports that he is unsure whether he wants to continue playing football, and possibly decide that he wants to start a career in entertainment.
According to ESPN Adam Schefter :
Like Patriots’ QB Tom Brady, TE Rob Gronkowski will not attend the start of New England’s off-season program Monday, per source.
Gronkowski still is considering whether to play the upcoming 2018 season, and has had “good communication” with the Patriots, per source.

Quarterback Tom Brady has usually been present for these workouts in the past. It’ll be interesting to see if this is part of the rumored riff happening in New England between owner Robert Kraft, Coach Bill Belichick and his players. Gronkowski has been in the league for eight years and has been arguably the best tight end in the NFL when he is not injured. He has had a myriad of injuries in the past and the toll they’ve taken on his body appears to have him considering retirement. In 14 games last season he finished with 69 receptions, 1.084 yards and eight touchdowns.
Shefter is reporting that Gronkowski could possibly be forfeiting up to $250,000 if he attends less than 90 percent of the offseason program as apart of a workout bonus he signed in his current contract. There have been rumors that Gronkowski and his representatives are looking for a new contract. It will be interesting to see if this in fact is the case as the Patriots are known to be very rigid when it comes to contract negotiations.
