John Wall on Drake Telling Him Wizards Were Going to Get Swept (Video)

John Wall is looking forward to seeing Drake courtside once again in Toronto after the Washington Wizards star revealed the rapper’s prediction for their playoff series versus the Raptors. Wall also says that he invited Drake to Game 3 in Washington when the series was 2-0 in Raptors favor, but he never showed up

Wall, who has engaged in trash talking with the rapper on social media after the first two games, revealed how Drake talked so much trash to him after the Wizards lost two straight in Toronto. Drake even went as far as to say that he had the broom out for Wall and his teammates. Drake, who is a global ambassador for the Raptors per Ohm Youngmisuk, has been trash talking to several Wizards players from his Toronto courtside seat including Kelly Oubre Jr., who he called a “bum”.

Wall said:

“Yeah, you know I am. For sure,” Wall said when asked if he is looking forward to seeing Drake now that the Wizards have evened the series as it shifts back to Toronto. “I told him to be here for Game 3. He told me he was going to be here. He didn’t show up. He told me we were getting swept. He said he had the broom for us.”

“My reaction is, we did what we were supposed to do; we came home and won two games,” Wall said of his response to Drake’s sweep comment. “My arguments with him ain’t really about the game of basketball — we just be out there having fun. But at the same time, we [have] a focus that we are trying to go in there and win Game 5. I want him to know that they weren’t going to sweep us.”

Wizards won Game 3 122-103, and Wall made sure the first round series went back to Toronto two wins apiece. Wall and Bradley Beal helped the Wizards come back from a 14 point deficit during Sunday’s 106-98 Game 4 victory.

In regards to Game 4, Wall said:

“We know what we can do to beat this team,” said Wall, who also dished out 14 assists. “We know what we got to do to stop this team.”

Wall was also asked if he’s listening to Drake’s music right now, and the point guard simply replied “no.”
