Two weeks ago, it was announced that Drake’s fifth studio album, ‘Scorpion,’ would be released. This was coming off his highly publized beef with Pusha T in which Pusha revealed that Drake had a baby with the former pornstar, Sophie Brussaux. Pusha was also riding the success of his own album, ‘Daytona.’ Many believed that a new project from Drizzy would likely get him past this beef that many viewed he lost.
Yesterday, the complete tracklist for Scorpion was revealed prior to its midnight release. It turned out to be a double disc project. Side A looked to be consisting of hip-hop records while Side B featured the soft R&B side of Drake. The features were also eye-opening. Jay-Z appeared on Side A. Ty Dolla $ign and the late Static Major and even Michael Jackson appeared on Side B.
Once Scorpion was released on Apple Music, the description for the album was shocking. Drake put some of the comments that many critics have been saying of him over the past five years such as:
“I HATE WHEN DRAKE RAPS, DRAKE SINGS TOO MUCH, DRAKE IS A POP ARTIST, DRAKE DOESN’T EVEN WRITE HIS OWN SONGS, DRAKE TOOK AN L, DRAKE DIDN’T EVEN START FROM THE BOTTOM, DRAKE IS FINISHED. I LIKE DRAKE’S OLDER STUFF, DRAKE MAKES MUSIC FOR GIRLS, DRAKE THINKS HE’S JAMAICAN, DRAKE IS AN ACTOR, DRAKE CHANGED, ANYBODY ELSE> DRAKE
YEAH YEAH WE KNOW.”
