Travis Scott recently collaborated with the Jordan Brand to release the Cactus Jack Jordan 4’s, which Scott designed to pay homage to his love for the culture of Houston. Scott says he “always liked the Oilers jersey”, nostalgically using their jersey colors as the main focus of the sneakers.
Scott hosted a block party carnival in Downtown Houston to allow Houstonians the first opportunity to purchase the rare Jordans. There were local food favorites like Frenchy’s Chicken and Shipleys Donuts, along with a ferris wheel, face painting, and a meet and greet with Travis Scott himself. The event was set to hold approximately 1200 guests, and when fans began to show up in droves, nearly 3000 of them, Scott’s security team immediately escorted him off the premises and Houston Police shut the event down.
Hit the flip to watch Travis Scott talk about how the shoe came to be and how he wishes the event could have lasted longer.
