Isaiah Wright was a running back that was documented on the Netflix series ‘Last Chance U‘ as he was a player for East Mississippi Community College. His playing career would be cut short as he was charged with criminal homicide involving a stabbing of an 18-year-old man in Tennessee. He was arrested in September 2017
Now according to TMZ Sports, he reached a plea deal today in Tennesee. Wright pled guilty to one count of facilitation of aggravated robbery. For this, the murder charge would be dropped, according to his attorney Kevin Angel.
Wright would also reach a deal in which he would receive five years of probation and being released from prison. He is currently a free man.
It’ll be interesting to see if Wright will try to redeem his football career. Maybe a move to Canada would be a smart move in order to make those necessary steps. Legal restrictions regarding Canada’s criminal background checks may hold Wright back here but if he can prove that he is turning his life around and is putting in the work to get back on the field, he may get a pass.
