Maroon 5 answered the NFL’s call in December and agreed to perform during the half time show much to the dismay of a number of their peers and colleagues.
As the Super Bowl week festivities continue in Atlanta one event will be notably missing, the halftime show performers press conference. The news became public when the powers that be issued the following statement. Below is an excerpt of their official press release.
“Maroon 5 has been working hard on a Pepsi Super Bowl LIII Halftime Show that will meet and exceed the standards of this event.”
“As it is about music, the artists will let their show do the talking as they prepare to take the stage this Sunday.”
The working theory is the league didn’t want the assembled media to hard press the Adam Levine fronted band before the big game but the decision to pull the press conference successfully magnified the issue they were trying so desperately to sweep under the rug.
Instead of offering an opinion on why the decision was made, or identifying what we believe the issue to be, we searched Twitter high and low to see why the people believe the press conference was pulled.
