The NFL decided to add some new events to their Pro Bowl week and this year, they added a Celebrity Flag Football game where NFL legends, celebrities, influencers and youth football community battle it out.
The two captains for the two teams are legends in their own genre: Deion Sanders and Snoop Dogg. Both coached their team from the sidelines at the ESPN Wide World Complex and even though Snoop is 47 and Sanders is 51, both were on the field not missing a step.
Former NFL players such as Matt Hasselbeck, Willie McGinest, Demarcus Ware and Mark Brunell joined Saunders and Snoop on the field. Disney stars Sophie Pollono, Ethan Wacker, Sadie Stanley and Josh Rush participated and actors Jake Choi, Trevor Jackson, Terrance J, JD McCray and Taran Killam also participated. Athletes from the Boys and Girls Club of America and the Fighting Cancer AFFL Champions played in this game as well. Former NFL quarterback Chad Pennington played Commissioner.
After the 60-minute game of funny calls, referees getting tackled, Snoop blitzing every play and Sanders giving fans an opportunity to see him on the field again, the trophy went to Sanders and his team as they won 34 to 32. Sanders will receive a donation to his foundation TRUTH, a non-profit organization that brings sports to kids so they can get off the streets.
Snoop had great sportsmanship because after the loss, he went to Sanders, congratulated him and threw money in the air above the players and the media. All hundred dollar bills but not the one Benjamin Franklin is on. It’s “Snoop money”.
