It’s been a rough season for Kyrie Irving and the Celtics.
Irving’s impending free agency has been the dominant topic of conversation throughout this season for the Celtics.
Questions also continue to surface about Gordon Hayward, and if he will return to his All-Star form he had in Utah which netted him a 4-year $128 million contract back in 2017 to join Boston.
Needless to say, its been a struggle for the Eastern Conference runner-up from a season ago. Coming into this season the Celtics were a favorite to get to the NBA Finals this season and with Irving healthy the Celtics looked to have a dominate regular season.
At now 37-24, the Celtics still could go deep in the Eastern Conference playoffs, but its been a bumpy ride so far this season.
It didn’t get much better Tuesday night as the Celtics lost their 3rd game in a row since returning from the all-star break to the Raptors 118-95.
The Celtics fell flat to Kawhi Leonard and the Raptors as they were down 21 at the end of the 1st half and it never got better. The Celtics 23-point loss was it worse since December of 2017.
Kyrie Irving, understandably, was not happy as he himself only scored 7 points in the loss. His deadpan reaction to tonight’s dreadful performance was a microcosm of what the Celtics have gone through this season.
Oh boy.
The Celtics look to bounce back when they get back on the floor tomorrow night at home vs. Damian Lillard and the Blazers.
