J.P. Losman hasn’t played in an NFL game since 2011.
Yet the NFL still wants him over a guy in Colin Kaepernick who played in the Super Bowl.
Losman, who’s an offensive assistant coach at Clemson, was throwing to DB’s and WR’s at the Tigers Pro Day when something unexpected happened.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Losman was approached by an NFL team today to see if he wanted to come back and play in the league.
Losman, who I’m sure was flattered by the question, declined the invitation.
The former 22nd overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft (same as Ben Roethlisberger, Eli Manning, and Philip Rivers) went a career 10-23 in the NFL with a completion percentage of 59 percent.
Meanwhile a guy in Colin Kaepernick, who played in the Super Bowl, can’t even get a phone call from a team.
The fact that an NFL team would even approach Losman to play again is absurd.
Although, this is the same league that had one contending playoff team call and ask retired 43 year-old Matt Hasselbeck if he wanted to play just this past season.
Hasselbeck hasn’t played in the league since 2015.
The NFL proved once again why they had to settle with Kaepernick for millions.
NFL teams are still doing dumb things like asking a 38-year old college football assistant coach to play again.
