New details have surfaced after Dallas Mavericks and former New York Knicks Kristaps Porzingis was accused of raping a woman last February.
The woman claims that on February 7 2018, 23-year old Porzingis raped her at his New York luxury pad in their building the day after his game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Porzingis actually tore his ACL in that February 6 2018 game. During the rape, she states he became violent, hitting and spitting on her, calling her “his slave” and then after the assault, promised her $68,000 to keep quiet. She has yet to receive the money and decided to speak about the 2018 assault with NYPD last Thursday.
However, the new details say a different story. Text messages show that the woman would send explicit photos of herself and tried to start a romantic relationship with the All-Star. The woman became upset that Porzingis wouldn’t return her text messages yet seem cordial when he saw her around in the Manhattan apartments.
Her emails and text messages also show that she contacted Knicks legal department to speak about the $68,000 Porzingis promised her. She also told the Knicks in an email that she stayed with Porzingis that day from 2 a.m., when the alleged rape happened, until 11 a.m. and “enjoyed the rest of the time”.
She provided an agreement signed by Porzingis that states he agreed to pay $68,000 as a “soothing gift even though I didn’t ask him to.”
According to the emails, the woman, who lived in the same apartment building as Porzingis, told the Knicks that she went to Porzingis’ apartment to get his autograph in the late-night hours after Porzingis suffered a serious knee injury at Madison Square Garden on Feb. 6, 2018. After what the woman told the Knicks was an “extremely aggressive encounter,” she said Porzingis agreed to co-sign a statement with her that promised his payment of $68,000.
Porzingis lawyer, Roland Riopelle, says he believes the contract is forged.
“Mr. Porzingis denies signing the alleged contract, which we believe is a forgery. When asked to produce the original contract for handwriting analysis, the complainant declined to do so,” Riopelle stated.
The emails also contradict her statement about Porzingis inviting her to his apartment. She told the Knicks while trying to retrieve the $68,000, that she went to his apartment to get an autograph.
