Anthony Joshua is set to make his American debut on June 1st at Madison Square Garden.
He will be defending the Heavyweight Title against Andy Ruiz, Jr. (32-1, 21 KO’s), as the fight will be streamed on DAZN.
DAZN is coming off an impressive show that saw Canelo Alvarez defeat Danny Jacobs last week in Las Vegas.
They are hoping for similar success as Joshua takes his turn, this time in NYC.
His fight journey, along with Ruiz’s, will be chronicled in the boxing docu-series ’40 Days.’
The ’40 Days’ series which debuted with Canelo-Jacobs, produced by LeBron James and Uninterrupted, was a great success.
This version of the series will be produced by Meek Mill and Roc Nation, Sporting News reports.
Mill saying in a press release,
“DAZN has created a program that explores a fighter’s heart and soul. They tell the story of what makes a true champion. I love being part of a project that tells of their grit, sacrifices and dedication outside the gym. It’s those things that show true character and should be lauded just as much as the knockouts in the ring.”
The new installment of ’40 Days’ will debut on Meek Mill’s YouTube channel on May 21st, and post every Tuesday and Thursday up until June’s title fight.
Joshua is 22-0 (21 KO’s) and currently the defending IBF, WBA, and WBO Heavyweight champion.
