Philadelphia Eagles DE Chris Long has announced his retirement from the NFL after 11 seasons.
Long took to Twitter to announce his retirement as he leaves the NFL as a two-time Super Bowl champion.
During his 11 seasons, Long, the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Howie Long, played with the Rams, Patriots, and Eagles.
More than his play on the field, he was a humanitarian off the field.
This past season Long won the Walter Payton Man of the Year award, considered by the NFL the highest honor a league player can receive.
His continued passion for important issues outside of football earned him recognition off the gridiron by those within and outside of the sports community.
