Not a upset like last week but we got to see a good four rounds.
Gennady Golovkin has begun his journey to get his rematch with Canelo Alvarez as he won with a knockout against Steve Rolls in 4 rounds at Madison Square Garden tonight.
In the beginning. Golovkin and Rolls were getting familiar with each other and then Rolls became more aggressive in the second round. However, after Golovkin hit Rolls with some body shots, it slowed him down and Golovkin was able to get the knockout in the 4th.
Some say Golovkin has to do more than fight Rolls to get to Alavarez. Oscar De La Hoya said he’s going to have to wait to fight Alvarez since he’s a “B fighter”.
“If I beat Steve Rolls, of course I want to fight Canelo,” Golovkin said before tonights win, “it doesn’t matter what De La Hoya is talking. De La Hoya is nothing. If people want this fight, 99% in September the fight is coming.”
Do people really want to see a third Golovkin-Alvarez fight? Will Alvarez accept the fight? We will see in due time.
