Day one of NBA free agency was a wild one and it’s far from over. We’re still waiting to see what Kawhi Leonard’s decision will be. He will hold team meetings in Los Angeles this week and many expect those to include the hometown Lakers and Clippers. The Raptors will get the final meeting to try to convince him to stay in Toronto.
TMZ Sports caught up with Clippers SG and 2019 Sixth Man of the Year Lou Williams to discuss the possibility of Leonard playing with him. As to why Leonard should choose the Clippers, Williams said the sun is always out, it isn’t always cold in LA like Toronto, Leonard got his ring, and he should come holla at the Clips now. Williams added that Leonard is a California kid anyway so the move makes sense.
Williams thinks Leonard coming to the Clippers would be the start of something special and that’s very true. LA took Golden State to six games in the first round of the playoffs and the addition of Leonard would make them automatic Finals contenders.
