Jerry Sloan is definitely one of the best coaches in sports of all time. He spent 23 seasons all with the Jazz from 1988-2011. He took Utah to the NBA Finals in back to back seasons in 1998 and 1998. In 2016, he sadly begin to go through dementia and Parkinson’s disease.
Sloan’s health has now gotten worse according to The Salt Lake Tribune’s Gordon Monson. Sloan is reportedly frail, physically and mentally limited, and has to have around the clock care for him. He’s still able to interact with his friends but his mind is “slipping away.”
Sloan’s wife Tammy has been taking care of him as well. Sloan’s health has also gotten to the point where he won’t be able to attend a Jazz game again. This is extremely sad to hear as he experienced so much success with the team and will be loved forever in the state of Utah.
