The Popeye’s chicken sandwich craze swept the nation for a whole week before Popeye’s announced they were out of stock for the time being earlier this week. Everyone wanted to try the sandwich, but most people had to endure long lines or the sandwich being sold out altogether. This problem spared no one, including Gayle King.
King, the host of CBS This Morning and her nephew Cameron Harrison an associate producer at Good Morning America, went on a quest to get the elusive sandwich. King posted on Instagram about her nephew and her trying out over half a dozen Popeye’s restaurants before coming up empty on those attempts.
Later on CBS This Morning, King was still wanting that sandwich
I swear to you, I’m gonna find that darn chicken sandwich today.”
Hopefully, for King, the seventeenth time was the charm.
