In Week 5, Kirk Cousins and his Vikings handled the Giants, 28-10. He was 22/27 for 306 yards and two touchdowns. Surprisingly, Donald Trump tried to call him after the game for some reason. Cousins has shown no evidence publicly of being MAGA so far besides going golfing with Trump.
According to Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Cousins said his agent texted him telling him to call the White House. At first, Cousins thought it was a prank but his agent was very serious about the call being returned. Cousins returned the call while he was on the bus heading to the airport and he was put on hold as he waited for Trump.
Cousins said the call with Trump only lasted for 30 seconds as he was congratulated. It’ll be interesting to find out what Cousins’ political views are at this point if he’s this loved by Trump.
