There are a good amount of changes coming to ESPN/ABC’s broadcast of the NBA for the 2019-20 season. According to the New York Post, Michelle Beadle won’t be on “NBA Countdown” as she will be reaching a buyout. She was making $5 million per year. Maria Taylor will be the new host. Jalen Rose and Jay Williams will join Taylor.
It is possible Beadle would move to new network or just chill and get paid.
Rachel Nichols’ “The Jump” will now be the “new pre-eminent NBA pregame show.” It will air on Saturday nights too before ABC NBA games along with before the Finals. Adrian Wojnarowski, Richard Jefferson and Paul Pierce will be contributing to ESPN’s NBA coverage as well.
We will be seeing Kendrick Perkins more as he recently re-signed with the network and is joining Cassidy Hubbarth on the Twitter pregame show “Hoop Streams.” Taylor’s new role with NBA Countdown adds on to her impressive contributions at ESPN such as on “College Gameday” and ABC’s “Saturday Night Football.”
