Last NFL season we may have witnessed the most blown non-call in the history of the NFL. Yes the blown pass interference call that should have been called against the Rams. The call that prompted fans to boycott the Super bowl, and some fans took that blown call a step further trying to sue the NFL.
Several days later after the NFC Championship game, Saints Defensive Back P.J. Williams was caught doing a 80 in a 50 zone by New Orleans police. According to TMZ, officers cited PJ for careless driving but when they approached his vehicle they smelled a loud smell of alcohol.
The cops eventually conduct a sobriety test to determine exactly how intoxicated Williams exactly was. He of course is arrested. Authorities proceed to ask PJ Williams girlfriend if she could drive his car home. This is when the story takes a wild turn.
Williams girlfriend ask the cops,
“”Is there any way that you can — he’s a Saints player! Don’t you feel bad?! Like, you saw that game didn’t you?!”
The cop hilariously responds,
“That doesn’t concern me.”
Kudos for trying. The cop must have been a Rams fan.
Williams was charged with speeding, improper lane usage, and failure to use turn signal.
It was reported by TMZ, PJ kept fighting the charges for over a year and cut a plea deal with attorneys accepting just a “reckless operation of a motor vehicle” charge.
