On November 13, Kodak Black was sentenced to 46 months in prison on federal gun charges for falsifying information on applications. Two guns he bought were also found at crimes scenes. As far as falsifying info, he gave an inaccurate social security number and lied about his criminal history. He is also facing two more counts of federal guns charges which each have 30-year sentences. This is all a sad ending for a rising superstar who simply couldn’t stay out of trouble.
Now, Kodak is looking to enter a drug rehab program in prison. According to TMZ, he wants to get clean and sober as documents were filed in court where Kodak was asked to get sent to a prison which has the Residential Drug Abuse Program. It’s a 500-hour program which lasts for nine months and has group therapy and one-on-one treatment.
People involved in this program must also live separately from the general population. This program as a whole could help Kodak’s sentence get reduced up to a year. This comes after the Florida rapper reportedly got into a fight with an inmate and also injured a corrections officer who tried to break it up.
Kodak originally planned to not plead guilty but that quickly changed leading up to the court appearance last week. He was arrested on his charges back in May in Miami at the Rolling Loud music festival. In addition to the extra gun charges that could add on 60 years, Kodak still needs to deal with his sexual assault case in South Carolina which dates back to 2017 in a hotel room.
