Dwayne Haskins picked up his first NFL win on Sunday against the Detroit Lions, and he was justifiably excited. So excited that after the game-sealing interception, Haskins started taking selfies with fans in the stands behind the endzone.
There were still eight seconds left on the clock, and Haskins was preoccupied, so the Redskins sent out their backup QB, Case Keenum, to take the final kneel down.
Haskins has caught some heat for missing the final kneel down to take a selfie, but one person who’s on Haskins’s side is the fan Haskins took the selfie with.
Redskins fan Jaime Lopez, which Haskins took the selfie with told TMZ Sports that what Haskins did was excellent fan service.
The Redskins are unfortunately losing fans by the day,”
“Dwayne took the time to make sure that didn’t happen … Let’s give the man credit where it’s due.”
Lopez hasn’t had the chance to speak with Haskins since the selfie, but he hopes to see the Redskins QB at the team’s next home game on Dec. 15.
Lopez plans to get the selfie framed and then signed by Haskins along with one of his jersey’s.
