Burrow tweeted in regards to minorities
“These monkeys just goin to town”
“Bulls better guard our white boy”
It makes me happy that the NBA is fining people for being P***ies”
In reference to the late great ESPN analyst who past away from appendiceal cancer,
“Stuart Scott and that lazy eye man”
Finally to show his white privilege Burrow tweeted,
“The Wisconsin White Boys”
Burrow who seemed emotional in his last controversial and racist rant stated,
“ATTENTION ALL NBA TEAMS: STOP PICKING FOREIGNORS”
What can we expect now from the LSU administration and media ?
As far as Joe Burrow is concerned, you can expect a fake prewritten statement from Joe stating how sorry he is for his past tweets, how the statements he made don’t define who he is a person now.
Joe Burrow is the concensus front runner for the Heisman trophy, which will be presented in the next few weeks, so it remains to be seen how the voting media members will view his past racist social media tweets as a detrimental contributor in voting against him.
There is a great saying from current Arizona State Head football coach and former ESPN NFL analyst Herman Edwards who always recited this famous phrase when mentioning players getting over the heads on social media.
The phrase states,
“Don’t Press Send”
The fact is regardless of what type of appology Joe Burrow gives, and however long ago the tweets were sent, the statements were indeed racist. It shows you how he felt at the time and maybe still does. The rhetoric and reality demonstrates Joe Burrow has a sense of prejudice against minorities which is defined in the deleted tweets.
