Last weekend, 43-year-old Thomas Callaway participated in a 5k race at the River Bridge Run in Georgia. He ended up going viral after he wa seen slapping 23-year-old Alex Bozarjian’s butt, a female reporter for WSAV-TV who was covering the face. She then took to social media to call him out and also filed a police report.
Callaway is a teen youth minister and has been trying to go public by saying he wasn’t using good judgement and begged for forgiveness. He ended up turning himself in on December 14 and was released on $1,300 bond. According to TMZ Sports, he was charged with misdemeanor sexual battery.
If Callaway does end up being convicted of sexual battery, he could get one year in prison along with a $5,000 fine. His attorney has since released a state vouching for him and how much good he does in his local community.
“Tommy is a loving husband and father who is very active in the community. We have been in touch with WSAV and representatives of Ms. Alex Bozarjian, as well as members of Savannah law enforcement.”
Ms. Bozarjian is definitely serious about making sure that Callaway does his time for sexually harassing her on-air. This was definitely uncalled for but it will be surprising if he does go to jail. A large fine may be the most likely result. Flip the page to check out the incident at the race.
