Churches have been put in a weird place since the coronavirus restrictions. Most have had to go to live-streaming their services and taking tithes and offering through apps.
Because of this, some churches are losing money because people aren’t physically going.
One Louisiana church pastor is trying to help with that.
According to Daily Mail, Pastor Tony Spell, who has blatantly ignored the social distancing rules by still having services because he says they have nothing to fear, has asked people to give their COVID-19 stimulus check to the church. Spell wants to start a social media challenge named Pastor Spell Stimulus Challenge.
The challenge wants people to give their $1200 (or more in some cases) to pastors, music ministries and missionaries who haven’t had offering in a month. He does say that he and his family have donated their money and if you don’t have a church you can give to his website.
Spell is also facing misdemeanor charges for still holding services but I don’t think he cares.
Pastor Spell could be a good pastor for all I know but this is the wrong message to send to people and give a bad name to the actual good pastors.
