Most people thought that when Kevin Durant left the Warriors the “super team” era was over. Kawhi didn’t join Lebron and Anthony Davis on the Lakers so that helped restore a little balance to the NBA.
However, according to New York Daily News, the “super team” may be making a comeback with the Brooklyn Nets. They reportedly have had internal discussions about trading for Wizards guard Bradley Beal.
That would create a big 3 of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Bradley Beal. Beal is set to make $28,751,775 next season so the Nets might have to part ways with guys like Caris LeVert, Spencer Dinwiddie, DeAndre Jordan, Jarrett Allen, and Taurean Prince.
They won’t have to get rid of all of those guys but a couple of them at a minimum will more than likely have to be traded.
For a team like the Nets, trying to put a championship team together while KD and Kyrie are still in their primes is the best thing they can do. Especially with KD coming off of an Achilles injury.
The issue is trying to convince the Wizards to trade Beal away, who signed a 2 year $72 million contract extension earlier this season.
