ESPN’s Elle Duncan Describes How She Faced Instances of Racism While Living In Boston; How She Chose Employment Over Staying in Boston

One of the major talking points during these recent protests has been bringing attention to the long-running issue of systematic racism, and other forms of racism throughout the working world. That could simply include a black person being passed over for something simple like a job, just because of the color of their skin, or even the more severe cases of millions of African Americans being thrown into prison for the most minor of offenses.

Today, we’ll focus more on the forms of racism in the working world.

Elle Duncan, a recognizable face on ESPN’s “Sportscenter” and other ESPN programs, revealed her battle against racism while living in Boston to work at NESN(Northeast Sports Network). Boston Globe Sports Media Columnist, Chad Finn, tweeted an excerpt from an article he wrote, regarding Duncan’s exit from NESN. It detailed Duncan’s resistance to stay at NESN, despite her bosses asking her multiple times to stay at the network.

Duncan then went on WEEI’s “Dale and Keefe Show”, and further explained the events that went down during her time in Boston.

It’s a story worth listening to, and not just because this country has their eyes glued on the movement to erase the means of racism across the country.
