During the last week or so, I haven’t really touched my keyboard. However, today is obviously a different day. We’re living through some historic times as a nation right about now, fighting for something as basic as human decency, and equality.
Unfortunately, many aren’t too keen about stepping into the discussion ring of racism. The federal government, along with some state governments, are choosing to blatantly ignore the problems that are rooted deep in our own society. The mistreatment, and subtle blackballing of African Americans is an issue that’s been swept under the rug for far too long, and it’s about time the people of this country unite, and fight for something that’s right.
See, I’ve seen countless videos of protesters across the country, and with those videos, I’ve obtained even more understanding, of how this country loves to respond whenever its citizens want justice. I’ve also gotten the opportunity to hear more and more stories from black people in America, and their experiences with systematic racism, and even horrible acts of racism brought against them in broad daylight.
One of those stories was from Brittney Payton, the daughter of legendary Chicago Bears running back, Walter Payton.
In these 3 videos you’re about to see, you’ll hear Ms. Payton explain what acts of racism a random man brought against her, and hopefully you’ll continue to understand why this country is speaking out.
I will tell you, these 3 videos are kind of heartbreaking to watch, just a warning.
Flip the page to see Brittney Payton explain an incident, in which a white man held up a watermelon to her, and made monkey noises at her while she was simply trying to get some medicine at Walgreens.
