Kevin Durant was on JJ Redick’s podcast and he had a lot to say about why he decided to join the Nets.
Knicks fans won’t like this.
- Knicks noise was media driven, never planned to go to the Knicks
- “I wanted to live in New York. I felt like Brooklyn was everything I’m about. Chill, on the low, all black everything, we quiet. Just focus on basketball. There’s no show when you come to our games, there’s no Madison Square Mecca. All of that shit. We just gonna hoop.”
- “I felt that way (about the Nets) around February, leading up to March. Then once free agency hit, it was time.”
- Says he’s excited about playing with Kyrie Irving. Cites Kyrie’s IQ, ability to score at all three levels
- Says Caris LeVert is “for sure” good enough to be that third guy for the Brooklyn Nets.
- “Caris is that perfect guy for us, any given night he can lead us in scoring, or lead us in assists… I feel like he has the tools to do everything on a basketball court.”
I am real curious to see how it works out.
