Can I say…”Busted?”
Kelly Kean Sharp is the reason Black folks and everyone looks at privileged white people as weird for stealing another race culture or impersonating.
Sharp thought she could get away with acting like a Chicana to secure her assistant professorship in the long run.
If she thinks it’s not fair, she better look at Black folks who applied for positions such as hers and were turned down.
2018 Ph.D. graduate Matthew Casey mentioned during his time at Furman University he“never saw her claiming Chicana or Latina identity.”
“Casey said he did notice Sharp adding the Chicana hashtags to her Twitter bio somewhat recently, and thought, Who knows? People come to embrace certain parts of their heritage at different stages in their lives,” via insidehighered.com.
