Obi Toppin didn’t waste no time heading home to Brooklyn for Thanksgiving after he was selected No. 8 in the first-round of the 2020 NBA Draft.
Today, Toppin was spotted with nonprofit group Black Veterans for Social Justice giving away Thanksgiving food along with turkeys.
Love is everything and Toppin had to make the first impression showing why he wants to be a New York Knick while helping struggling families.
Many NBA players forget where they come from and Toppin understands the importance of giving back to the city that made him. A perfect example of NBA players who love giving back to their communities are LeBron James, Draymond Green, Chris Paul, Malcolm Brogdon and Stephen Curry.
Toppin understood when NBA Commissioner Adam Silver called his name last Wednesday, representing the NBA with a compassionate heart was the way to respond.
To all the 2020 NBA Draft picks, take notes because Toppin is an amazing guy who will continue to make efforts off the court during the 2020-21 NBA season.
