The general consensus has always been that Jerry Rice is the best wide receiver in NFL history. Rice still holds numerous receiving records, records that have stood tall even with the wide receiver talent that’s made its way to the league.
But Randy Moss doesn’t seem to agree with the notion that Rice is the best, not in terms of overall talent and impact made on the game. In fact, he thinks himself and Terrell Owens rank ahead of Rice when it comes to that specific criteria.
I believe there’s some truth to Moss’ statement though.
You could go back and watch highlights of Moss and Owens in their primes, and easily see how much better they were than everyone else on the field.
If you don’t believe me, go back and watch some highlights for yourself.
But there’s also the fact that Rice dominated the game for a longer period of time, which should factor into the wide receiver GOAT discussion.
I’d still roll with Rice, but it’s always a fun debate to have.
