If you are a supporter of Deshaun Watson one of the things you have probably said publicly and privately is why did the accusers go to the police first.
It is a valid statement even though it doesn’t mean the person is lying or telling the truth.
Even Watson’s lawyer questioned why the accusers didn’t go to cops first.
We have some new information that five of Watson’s accusers have indeed spoken to the police according to the Washington Post.
Three more of Buzbee’s clients recently spoke to Houston police, Buzbee said Wednesday, bringing the publicly known total of accusers involved with the law enforcement investigation of Watson to five. A spokesman for Houston police declined to comment.
Buzbee also questions if it was best move for Watson’s lawyer to admit he was paying for sex regardless if it was consensual or not.
Once again it is a fair question to ask.
To Hardin’s argument that any sex acts that occurred in these massages with Watson were consensual?
“So you’ve just told the world who’s watching that your client paid for sex? … My grandma always said: ‘You’re digging yourself a hole already. Stop digging,’” Buzbee said.
Watson’s team says they aren’t settling, so this is nowhere near the end.
Hardin says he plays on filing a lot of motions next week possibly to try to get some of the cases dismissed.
Stay tuned.
