For all the good that comes with Stephen A. Smith, a tiny bit of bad finds its way into the picture as well.
That point is being emphasized even further after Smith’s actions on First Take this week. ESPN released a list detailing the 25 best players under the age of 25 based on the idea of potential. The idea itself wasn’t bad, but that didn’t stop NBA fans from completely destroying the list on Twitter and all across social media.
Stephen A. Smith joined those fans and slandered the list on his ESPN show First Take, adding that whoever that came up with the list need to be “drug tested”.
That’s something you can’t say about your fellow co-workers on a show that’s hosted on the network you appear on, let alone national television. But Smith’s actions, even though they might be comical for some, led to an apology from Smith.
